James Fender

James Fender is Director of Operations for PurePower Technologies’ Blythewood, South Carolina facility. He leads Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality and is responsible for executing the Operational Excellence strategic plan for the Blythewood organization.

With more than 20 years of experience and a strong acumen in automotive industry operational methods, Fender is a seasoned leader skilled in problem solving, data analytics, and operational efficiency. Most recently, he served as PurePower Technologies’ Manager of Manufacturing Engineering for six years. Fender began his career with Siemens Diesel Systems Technology as an intern while attending the University of South Carolina in 2001. He worked as a member of the Engineering team and advanced through the organization to eventually lead it.

Fender earned a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.
